Eddy Grant speaking at Event Production Show Seminar

Symphotech director Eddy Grant joined senior event industry professionals at the Event Production Show (EPS), at Farnborough Airport for the first in-person trade conference post-lockdown, May 26th, 2021.

With all eyes within the live events sector focused on the potential end of the STEPS regulations on 21st June, the conference sessions on the SaFest conference stage at EPS looked in detail at multiple potential future protocols.

Eddy delivered a talk in the morning, entitled The Event Safety Horizon. Drawing on his experience managing the safety for the Circus Club test event at Bramley Moore Dock Liverpool, he outlined what had been implemented in Liverpool, with outcomes and learnings. He encouraged delegates to consider what organisers, suppliers, and particularly the health & safety event professionals, would need to consider for a safe return for live events.

In the afternoon Eddy joined Emma Parkinson, Emergency, Resilience, Crowded Places & Public Safety Specialist - Coventry University, and Eric Stewart, Chair of the UK Crowd Management Association, on a panel entitled “Responsibility=The Ability to Respond (Crowd Safety and Covid”.

Eddy comments;
“It was great to be back with fellow professionals in a face to face to face setting. It was very pertinent to share knowledge for effective future planning, as there are so many shifting sands to consider when planning as we come out of the pandemic restrictions, scheduled for 21st June.

“The team at Symphotech are committed to collaborating and we will continue to share our experiences at more conference sessions, such as the recent South Coast Events Forum webinar I presented, to help the industry recover and reopen safely.”
