Symphotech received very welcome news, 19th October 2020, that it had been awarded a grant by the Arts Council from the DCMS Culture Recovery Fund. The team is delighted to receive this financial support that will underpin the ensuing six months.

The funds help to secure the company’s future, along with that of our employees and freelance colleagues through the winter, following a summer decimated by the impact of the pandemic.

For us, that’s not enough

Our proposal incorporated a wish to utilise the funds to support some ‘pro bono' work with others in the sector. In particular, those who need to plan for next year’s COVID-19 landscape, but find themselves under-resourced following the loss of events or business this year.

Events, organisers and venues are in a ‘Catch 22’ situation

It will be more complicated than ever, to deliver safe, COVID secure, viable events and venues next year. And the loss of 2020 income makes it hard for many to invest in this vital professional health and safety advice.

That is why we are launching our ‘Recover & Reopen’ programme

Recover & Reopen will allow us, working with partners in the sector, to deliver seminars and training, and safety planning advice. This free or subsidised assistance will ensure that events, organisers, venues, arts and culture organisations will have the professional, reliable support to plan and reopen safely in 2021.

We’re working now on the launch and getting everything in place for early November so watch this space for further announcements. In the meantime, stay safe!
