Vevo Halloween

Overseeing health and safety as over 3,000 music lovers attended the ‘spooktacular’ Vevo Halloween.

As more than 3,000 ticket holders packed Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock for the Vevo Halloween spectacular, Symphotech took care of the health and safety aspects of the event, which saw Jack Garratt, Izzy Bizu and Blossoms play live.

Known as an online video hosting service, Vevo moved into the live events arena and asked us to get on board to make sure it ran a responsible, safe event at the 12.000sqm site, which presented unique challenges as parts of it are a working timber yard.

Our responsibilities were extensive and covered putting together a safety plan and fire risk assessment, attending SAG meetings and keeping the local council up to date, along with being on hand throughout the build and carrying out due diligence on all contractors who visited the site. On event day, Symphotech company director Julian Spear was on site in Liverpool acting as Silver Control.

Despite fire department concerns about the event taking place in a warehouse space close to timber storage, all concerns were satisfied thanks to extensive work on fire control systems and the event, which was made into an online film, was able to not only go ahead but be a great success.
