Lockdown Festival

Symphotech’s years of experience was put to good use at Lockdown Festival.

The first ever Lockdown Festival took place at Powderham Castle in Devon with Symphotech managing the health and safety side of the event.

Between 9th-11th September a sell-out crowd of 7,000 were entertained by the likes of Stormzy, Tinie Tempah and Katy B. Organisers UK Live turned to us at relatively short notice to help counter concerns from the police and local authority after concerns were raised around the 16+ age restriction and the drug culture associated with dance music festivals.

With tight time deadlines, our team worked quickly with all stakeholders to create a series of measures to mitigate the risks, including upgrading on-site medical and welfare facilities and boosting counter-drug policies by introducing more robust searches, the use of drug dogs and amnesty bins. A no re-entry policy was introduced to disrupt the flow of drugs and alcohol into the site.

While the fans enjoyed the new festival, our team was on site throughout to oversee all aspects of health and safety and react to any challenges that arose.
